Hello, I am a geek!
I am known as lanrat and mrlanrat online and I love all that is related to computers.
I have always been heavily into computers and technology. This includes computers and all electronics as well. If it has wires I am interested in it. I often will take things apart just to figure out what mades them tick. Networking has always peaked my interest, just the communications between computers and other devices and how they can all work in a harmony is a beautiful sight to see. I always love to learn about computers and if I find something I don't know much about I will try to teach it to myself. As stated earlier I love networking and that includes servers. I like setting up servers and running them. I currently run and maintain my own web server. From it I host several different sites. I also like building computers, putting all of those parts together to make one machine. Fixing and troubleshooting computers and other devices is also fun. I see it as a puzzle, first figuring out what the problem is and then finding a way to solve it. I also like to mod, a mod is a modification of a computer or an electronic related device for pure aesthetic reasons. Modding can also be to enhance functionality, or to push the specifications to get more out of a device. Another interest of mine is programming. I have always been interested in what tells a computer or other device how to act. I have programmed web functionalities, computers and other devices such as microcontrollers.
In addition I love the Linux Operating System. I love it so much that I always have a copy of it in my pocket (My N810) and I am working on building my own distribution.
